Grading Categories
1. Classwork - 35%
-Students will be given a grade daily based on participation in class, notebook completion, and/or their exit ticket. Exit tickets are usually made of questions that are directly related to what was learned in class that day. Student notebooks are an important resource created in class and KEPT in class. Student notebooks provide an excellent reference for projects, studying, and helping teammates during group work.
2. Projects/Labs - 25%
-Students are expected to collaborate in pairs or groups on projects and labs that require some or all of the following: investigating questions, researching a topic, creating a hypothesis, collecting data, summarizing and analyzing data, or presenting data. Students may receive grades on completion, accuracy and teamwork.
3. Quizzes - 25%
-Created by Mrs. Milnes aligning to the PA state standards to assess learning and prepare for the 8th grade science PSSA.
4. Homework - 15%
